ShowsKristen Newhouse
Theatrical Stage Supervisor February 7, 2020 The bright lights of Broadway and the stages of Hollywood are the office environments Kristen Newhouse lives and works in. She joins Fish in the Aquarium to discuss her career and how it all came together.
Starting from the humble beginnings of the Flint Central theater program and the tutelage of legendary teacher and theater impresario Martin Jennings, the Flint Central theater program was, for years one of the premiere in the nation, producing scores of entertainment industry professionals including Emmy Award winner Ernie Gilbert, and actor Ben Cain. Kristen decided early on that her future in entertainment would reside in directing and managing the events that culminate in a tremendous experience for the audience and a profitable venture for the creators. Orchestrating a symphony out of chaos is the road traveled by a unique person possessing both artistic skill and sensibilities and strong leadership and management talent. It’s the heart of a dancer/painter/actor coupled with the force of a football coach/field General/and business manager. Thats a TALL order! But Kristen has killed it! Being from Flint helped her learn how to communicate with anyone effectively, and developed a toughness that is invaluable when navigating the rocky and precarious roads of the entertainment Major Leagues of New York and Los Angeles. But being from Flint sort of prepares you for anything, and Kristen has utilized that Rust Belt DNA to carve out an enviable career that makes both Flint Central Indians and Flintstones everywhere very proud indeed. |
