So, what's all the hubbub about this "flint Chronicles" Show?

The show will be focused on the rich (and almost unbelievable) history of Flint and Genesee County. Gary "Fish" Fisher has traveled around the United States as a speaker, trainer and financial coach, and he always made it a point to bookend his programs with a story about his hometown. "People would just be mesmerized listening to those stories", he says. And it soon became clear that there was a real crazy element to them. "People just couldn't believe a drop out from my high school invented General Motors, Buick, and Chevrolet (and many other companies) single-handedly. They couldn't believe I played baseball with a guy who only had one hand, who went on to throw a no-hitter for the New York Yankees. Or that a fella from our area invented Area 51, and on and on." So, I thought they'd be great stories to tell to a wider audience.   ​

While history can be a bore to some people, REAL history--great stories, told well--can be thrilling.  In fact, that's what a captivating book or movie is all about:  a great story, that's well told.  Well, we sure have more than our share of great stories to tell, and I am going to do my best to tell them well! 

The spine of the show will be focused on not just the events and people that populate the tales, but also in many cases, how they resonate today.  "The past is prologue" is a true statement, indeed, and understanding how we got to 'now" can help us successfully navigate the future.  Of course, there are some stories that are just flat out entertaining, funny, moving, motivational and intriguing.  A great storytelling body of work has all of those elements, and our goal with this show will employ them while recounting the ways that Flint and Genesee County has impacted the world.  Stories about our incredible business innovations, creativity and arts, courage and athleticism, cultural and social leadership, and well...our pure hardscrabble grit and resilience.
