ShowsBill Troesken
Basketball Coach November 30, 2022 As part of a long and successful coaching career, Coach Bill Troesken led the Flint Northern Vikings to the Class A State Basketball Championship in 1978, continuing on a legacy of champions in Flint. It was Flint Northerns’ third state title of the decade, and seventh overall at that point (Northern would win one more in the 90’s). Along the way he has remained a vital part of the Flint sports scene, and few have ever had as much experience at it as Troesken has.
Bill joins Fish in The Aquarium to talk about those teams and the incredible talent that Flint has produced in athletics for both men and women’s sports individually and on a school and team level. He’s also in the house to talk about the upcoming induction ceremony for the new class of inductees for the Greater Flint Sports Hall of Fame. The 2022 class includes several legendary talents including Lapeer East, University of Michigan, and Miami Dolphin NFL star Jake Long, Flint Central, Depaul and International basketball star Marty Embry, Flint Central, Michigan State, Cleveland Cavalier NBA and International basketball star Darryl Johnson, National Champion and record-setting track star from Grand Blanc and the University of Kansas, Gwen Wentland Mikinski, and Flint Northern, University of Tennesee, and New York Giant NFL football and track star Michael Miller. It’s a Hall of Fame Day in the Aquarium with Bill Troesken and Fish today! |
