Tim Lane
Author, Your Silent Face

January 6, 2021
We open this show with a heartfelt honoring of Larry Cuevas. His memory and accomplishments will live on.

We love featuring authors on “Fish and The Flint Chronicles”, especially when the story is set in Flint! Tim Lane delivers the goods with his first novel, “Your Silent Face” set in The Vehicle City.

The normal teen angst many feel growing up was exacerbated by author Tim Lane’s ‘fish out of water’ experience attending private parochial school while simultaneously being from the ‘poor side of town’ - Flint’s old Eastside during the 1980’s. Lane’s book is set against  the backdrop, of the slow, and inexorable unwinding of nearly 100 years of Flint prosperity.

His novel “Your Silent Face” explores this unique situation by using music as a plot line. Fish even gets a mention in the book! Tim is a thoughtful and creative writer, using 80’s songs as a plot line in the novel, and he knows a Flintstone when he sees one!

Fish starts the show paying homage to one of his mentors and one of the legends of the East Side of Flint, the beloved Candelario "Larry" Cuevas, who recently passed.  RIP, Mr. Cuevas.

"Fish,
don't take no shit.
don't give no shit.
But mostly,
Don't take no shit."

--Candelario "Larry"  Cuevas
Flint, MI

Well-heeded words of wisdom.
