Mark Farner
Musician, Rock 'n roll!

April 10, 2019

They were an American Band.  A band that sold out Shea Stadium faster than the Beatles.  A band who outplayed Led Zepplin to the extent Zep’s manager unplugged them.  They should be ( and likely will be) in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  But before all of this, and during this journey, they were and are, a FLINT BAND!

GFR was led by front man Mark Farner, who personified the notion of “Rock and Roll Star”, while rewriting what it meant to actually be one.  Farner was one of the leading architects of the Funk and Roll fusion of the 70’s, and it led to a huge number of hits, and a worldwide following. Songs like “ Were an American Band”, “ I’m Your Captain”, and “ Bad Time”, among many other big hits, fueled the “supergroups” meteoric rise. Through it all, Farner stood tall in the pocket.

To say that Mark Farner is rock royalty, would understate the sentiment.  A Flintstone of the highest order, he continues to entertain audiences around the globe.  Mark joins Fish on another episode of “Fish and The Flint Chronicles.”  You won’t want to miss this one! ROCK and ROLL!
