Bryan Wilson
Chess Coach

November 9, 2022
Bryan Wilson Sr.  is a helluva chess coach. His son Bryan Wilson Jr. is the only player in Detroit that has been a part of all 6 Dream Teams dating back to his days in elementary school.

Bryan Jr. is still the highest rated scholastic player in Detroit, played 1st board on the High School State Championship team and has won 6 straight state championships at 3 different schools. He even beat Chess Grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura, the strongest American chess player, currently fourth-ranked in the world!

Wilson Sr. is now living in Flint and working to coach chess champions right here in the Vehicle City. His skills as a chess coach, and player are clearly superior, but it’s really his story that is most intriguing. Its’s one fraught with peril, risk and strategy.

Just like in chess, except we’re talking real life here not chess life. It’s pawns and rooks and queens in The Aquarium, and as always, a seriously spellbinding story. If you think chess is slow paced and dreamy, you’re in for a REALLY big surprise!
