The 16th Michigan Infantry in the Civil War

October 14, 2020
Without question one of our favorite regular contributors on the show is Kim Crawford. He always has a new spin on an old story, or a story no one has ever heard about. After a recent trip to Gettysburg with Tracy and my dad fo this 80th birthday trip, I was reminded that Flint played a major role in the Civil War  Gettysburg battle, specifically on Little Round Top. The story involves the 16th Michigan, also known as “Stocktons’ Brigade’ named after Colonel Thomas Stockton, who’s house is still standing and a museum in Flint.

As always Kim brings the facts to life, and instead of the grey history of the past, it’s the bright color of today. Two of Flint’s finest historians Fish and Kim, break down the story you never learned in school! It’s Flint at Gettysburg today on Fish and The Flint Chronicles!
