ShowsAnne Marie Atanga
Operatic Vocalist Dr. Bernadette Atanga Mom and Super Fan! September 29, 2021 Flint has produced so many incredible music talents over the years it’s easy to pick a song or genre and quickly find a Flintstone who has made his or her mark. Not to mention the bevy of local garage, bar, and cover bands loaded with super-talented people just waiting for their big break. Every now and then you run in to a talent so big and strong you just have to step back and admire it.
When Fish heard Anne Marie Atanga sing the National Anthem at a Flint City Bucks game, he knew that was exactly what he was witnessing - a star in the making. So we asked her to join us on the show without really knowing her full story. We had met her terrific mom and number one fan/cheerleader/ mentor Bernadette Atanga too and came away wildly impressed with the duo. Bernadette is a native of Cameroon, and brought that land’s diverse and multi faceted banquet of musical sensibilities with her to the states when she located here. Of course this was passed down to her daughter Anne Marie who drank deeply from the vast array of opportunities provided. She is the person who could sing the phone book and give you goosebumps. But luckily for us she agreed to sing her specialties and gave two first rate performances that will make you freeze to listen. Not only is it the first time we’ve featured opera on Fish and the Flint Chronicles, Anne Marie added in a Broadway style performance to round out another incredible dive in to the talented musical waters of The Aquarium of Fish and The Flint Chronicles! |
