Fish discusses with Jim Hargrove, the show's "Voice of Reason", the permanent closing of Angelo's Coney Island on Davison Road, one of Flint's landmark restaurants, and the origins of the famous Flint-style coney sauce and special combination of coney dog elements.  The original Angelo's on Davison Road was a very special place.

Guest: Theda Magee, veteran Angelo's Coney Island waitress for over three decades!  Theta is a Grand Blanc High School graduate.  Great job, Theda!

As promised on the show, here is the "top secret" Angelo's coney sauce.  Supposedly.....

Coney Island Sauce

1 beef heart
1 lb. hamburger
2 1/2 tsp cumin
1 T sugar
2 small onions, chopped fine
2 T chili powder
1 T pepper
1 small bottle catsup
4 T vinegar
2 T salt

Simmer beef heart in water to cover until tender.  Cool, then grind fine.  Cook hamburger and onion in heavy skillet or saucepan until hamburger loses its red color and starts to brown.  Add remaining ingredients, cover and simmer for one hour, stirring occasionally.  If needed, add a small amount of water.
