Physical Fitness Competitor, Executive Director of Back to the Bricks, and President of the Women's Forum
January 3, 2020
Amber Taylor, one of our favorite guests, is back again! When she appeared on the show on January 3, the news hadn't quite publicly broken that she has been appointed the new Executive Director of Back To The Bricks...but now it has broken wide! Since she assumed the role, she hasn't wasted a second, and has just finished leading the huge "Chrome and Ice" program at The Dort. And there is so much more to come....
She is also The President of the Flint Women's Forum, and we are THRILLED to say that the Rosie The Riveter statue is off to the foundry, as Amber's efforts have paid off with enough contributions to make it a reality. More than that I am personally gratified to announce that I will be the emcee of the big unveiling on August 14th!
This story is so HUGE. The army of "Rosie The Riveters" were a massive part of the American Arsenal of Democracy that crushed Hitler and Hirohito and stopped the worst despots in human history in their tracks. A woman in a work suit with a bandanna and a wrench made the Nazis cry, "ENOUGH ALREADY"! THAT'S a story worth telling, and you better believe we are going to do just that!
Now, being that it's the first of a brand new year (and decade) that we all set New Year's resolutions, we wanted a show that focused on goal-setting and physical fitness.
So, Amber was actually on the show to talk about how she completely changed her life and health and became a bikini contest competitor, losing a whole bunch of weight along they way. She took a hard look at herself, her health, her attitude, her excuses, and the example she was setting for her daughter, and committed to an entire lifestyle adjustment.
Did it work? Did she gain more energy? Well, in addition to all of this she is also going to be a featured dancer in the annual "Teddy Bear Charity", the local version of "Dancing With The Stars"! Her dance will feature both Latin and African influences, and promises to be just as fast-paced and supernova style as Amber is, herself.
I know it sounds made up. But it's not. Amber is a dynamo of unlimited energy. She's for real - and she is right here on Fish and The Flint Chronicles to tell us all about it ..and it is FANTASTIC!
